Mexican Sincronizada

Mexico's version of grilled ham and cheese! This delicious breakfast, lunch, snack, or light dinner is ready in just 5 minutes and uses only 3 ingredients!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 flour tortillas ~7 inches in diameter
  • 2 large slices of manchego cheese or 1/4 cup shredded Mexican cheese, like Oaxaca or your cheese of choice
  • 2-3 slices ham I use turkey, but use your favorite!

Instructions
 

  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat
  • Once the skillet is hot, warm 1 tortilla in the skillet for about 15 seconds, then flip over
    2 flour tortillas
  • Layer the cheese and ham on the tortilla in the skillet, then cover with the second tortilla.
    2 large slices of manchego cheese, 2-3 slices ham, 2 flour tortillas
  • Allow the sincronizada to cook until the bottom tortilla has golden brown spots and the cheese starts to melt, ~45-60 seconds
  • Flip the sincronizada. Allow the other side to develop golden brown spots and the cheese to finish melting, about 60 seconds more
  • Remove from the skillet, cut into triangles, and serve!
