Easy Avocado and Tomatillo Salsa

This homemade avocado and tomatillo salsa recipe will have you skipping the bottled variety at your local grocery store! With only a few fresh ingredients and about 5 minutes, this salsa is easy to whip up at home for your next Mexican meal!

Ingredients
  

  • 3 tomatillos, husked, rinsed, and cut into large chunks ~8 ounces, 224g
  • 1 serrano pepper, stem removed and cut into large chunks
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 ripe avocados, skin and pit removed, and flesh cut into small cubes ~11.5 ounces, 323g
  • 1/4 cup finely diced white onion
  • 1/8 cup finely chopped cilantro leaves ~leaves from about 3 stalks
  • Salt to taste
  • A couple drops of lime juice

Instructions
 

  • Blend the tomatillos, chile pepper, and garlic on high speed until smooth
    3 tomatillos, husked, rinsed, and cut into large chunks, 1 serrano pepper, stem removed and cut into large chunks, 1 clove garlic
  • Add chopped avocados one at a time to the blender, pulsing on high until just incorporated and the salsa still has some texture
    2 ripe avocados, skin and pit removed, and flesh cut into small cubes
  • Remove the salsa from the blender, stir in the salt and chopped onions and cilantro
    1/4 cup finely diced white onion, 1/8 cup finely chopped cilantro leaves, Salt to taste
  • Top with a few drops of lime juice
    A couple drops of lime juice
